Project:

Replacement of all existing roof top units at the Chandler Building in downtown Evanston.

Objectives:

Located in the heart of downtown Evanston, the Chandler building has landmark and historical status in Evanston, which complicated the replacement of the units.

The customer desired to replace over 50 tons of aging roof top units that were energy inefficient to enable a reduction on their tenants’ energy bills. Due to the reduced cost of natural gas we suggested to convert the electric heat in the existing units to gas heat in the new units. By converting the units from electric heat to gas heat, the customer would be able to realize additional energy savings.

Results:

Although the proof is always in the pudding, energy reduction cost analysis, we prepared to show our customer projected energy savings and showed a 38% reduction in energy bills to operate the new roof top units.
